Iris Apfel, at 98-years of age, probably has more sass than a room full of Gen-Z’ers put together. This flamboyant oldie (if we may respectfully call her so) is lovingly known as the “geriatric starlet” throughout the industry. The lanky damsel has developed a cult following owing to her bold fashion choices which have resonated with many. Her knack for buying, finding and styling statement pieces like a master can be credited to her wild life and all the fashion choices she has made along the way!
Glamourous and whimsical: these are two words that perfectly describe Iris Apfel. This boss “lady boss” can definitely be labeled as more than an icon today. From her exaggerated glasses to her globe-trotting lifestyle, she’s a force to keep up with! Last spring, Apfel was the face of two major collections: Kate Spade and Alexis Bittar - a campaign that featured her alongside 19-year old blogger Tavi Gevinson. We’d say that’s sufficient validation for a 98-year-old already... but if that wasn’t enough, month after month she still continues to grace the covers of countless fashion magazines. We love her over-the-top style and think we could all take a few pointers from her to use in our lives!
Maye Musk
When this powerhouse of a woman declared “The sky’s the limit”, we couldn’t have agreed more. The 70-year-old has been a trailblazing model and has broken the rules of beauty like no other. She has achieved extraordinary heights in her career at an age where it is more of a problem than an opportunity! What we love about the dietician-turned-model-turned-star is her extravagant yet powerful sense of style, her colossal presence, and her undying grit. We also love the kind of styles she is constantly rocking on her eyes. Take a cue from Mama Musk’s rulebook and you’ll never go wrong!
Yoko Ono
One of the most influential and iconic Japanese women in the world - Yoko Ono has truly shared a mixed love-hate relationship with the media. Since the 1960s, her avant-garde art speaks volumes as an activist, musician, and filmmaker. While she is still best recognized for her marriage to The Beatles’ John Lennon, it’s her wackiness that has kept her on our radar. We love her guts and confidence...not to mention her absolutely rock-chic sense of style!
